For ships engaged in voyages outside of warm climates, an immersion suit of an appropriate size shall be provided for every person on board. Detailed instruction manuals shall be provided on board, covering operations, safety and maintenance and occupational health hazards relevant to the inert gas system and its application to the cargo tank system. The manuals shall include guidance on procedures to be followed in the event of a fault or failure of the IGS. USCG MIs noted no instructions for testing IGS onboard.
