An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. Except as allowed by paragraph (d) of this section, each life jacket must be approved in accordance with either § 160.002, § 160.005, or § 160.055 in subchapter Q of this chapter. 08 life jackets were deteriorated and unusable due to sun exposure. At least one ring life buoy must be fitted with a lifeline. If more than one ring life buoy is carried, at least one must not have a lifeline attached. Each lifeline on a ring life buoy must: Be buoyant; Be of at least 18.3 meters (60 feet) in length; Be non-kinking; Have a diameter of at least 7.9 millimeters (5/16 inch); Have a breaking strength of at least 5 kilonewtons (1,124 pounds); and Be of a dark color if synthetic, or of a type certified to be resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light. The float-free link required by § 180.130(a)(1) must be: (1) Certified to meet § 160.073 in subchapter Q of this chapter, or other standard specified by the Commandant; Vessel equipped with new life float but does not have weak link for painter. Install weak link specific for installed float-free life float. 46 CFR 180.137 50C

A vessel must have an approved life float. Inspectors found several cracks on life float. Vessel is restricted to 3 nautical miles until cleared.

Fuel shut off valves must be installed to stop fuel flow. Starboard side fuel shut off valve does not close all the way.

Prove proper operation of aft bilge pump

Secure overboard discharge of sewage with padlock, or some acceptable means per 33CFR159.

Vessel must undergo a "New to Zone" Inspection by the cognizant OCMI (Puerto Rico) prior to the carriage of passengers.
