CARGO SHIPS LESS THAN 10000 GT, IF A FIRE IN ANY ONE COMPARTMENT COULD PUT ALL THE PUMPS OUT OF ACTION, THERE SHALL BE AN ALTERNATIVE MEANS CONSISTING OF AN EMERGENCY FIRE PUMP COMPLYING WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE FSS CODE. EMERGENCY FIRE PUMP WAS INOPERABLE DUE TO THE VESSEL TOUCHING BOTTOM WHILE DOCKING. THIS BLOCKED THE EMERGENCY FIRE PUMP INTAKE CAUSING THE PUMP TO SUCTION MUD DURING TEST.
