Each emergency generating set arranged to be automatically started shall be equipped with starting devices approved by the administration with a stored energy capability of at least three consecutive starts. During PSC examination, PSCO discovered that emergency generator was off and main starting batteries were missing.

The purpose of this regulation is to maintain and monitor the effectiveness of the fir safety measures the ship is provided with. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met: 1 fire protection systems and fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be maintained ready for use; and 2 fire protection systems and fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be properly tested and inspected. At least 09 high pressure CO2 rubber hose release lines have deteriorated due to friction with one another. The release hoses now show the inner metal braiding. 74SOLAS(14) II-2/14.1.
