The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. #1 MDE suffered a marine casualty while vessel was underway performing DP trials. #1 MDE experienced a hole in the engine block due to a connection rod disconnect. Vsl shall repair MDE back to manufacturer condition and be fit for sea.
