Each emergency generating set aranged to be automatically started shall be equipped with starting devices approved by the administration with a stored energy capability of at least three consecutive starts. The emergenxy generator batteries are not capable of starting the emergency generator. Two sets of batteries are provided; the #1 set had no charge and the #2 set could only provide one start of the system before duplicating its charge. 74 SOLAS (14) II-1/44.2 Code 60ac

Resolution: Conducted a PSC Administrative Deficiency follow up. SEC HOU-GAL PSC Branch received a class report from NKK satisfying the requirement to have an operation emergency generator (see documents tab). Cleared 01 deficiency. 01 deficiency remains outstanding.

Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life-saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. The 25 person port side liferaft container is no longer watertight as evident by the misaligned upper casing. This condition allows for the ingress of water and could damage the liferaft. 74 SOLAS (14) III/ 20.2 Code 16ac
