The company should establish procedures, plans and instructions, including checklists as appropriate for key shipboard operations concerning the safety of the personnel, ship and protection of the environment. PSCO observed C/E use an open flame test equipment to test Flame detector in purifier space causing it to burn the casing of the flame detector. Per user guide, the recommended equipment is to use a test lamp. Due to engineering crew not knowing how to properly test, an ISM audit is required. 74SLOAS(14) IX/3.1 ISM Code 7.
