The vessels #4 generator shut down while underway, causing the engine to shut down as well. Vessel must submit a class report identifying the cause of the casualty & attesting to satisfactory repairs made.

Resolution: Received ABS Class Report stating heaving seas caused a false alarm on the oil mist detector. Operational tests were completed and witnessed by ABS.

LURLINE reported a scavenge air fire on 17 October 2021. Vessel reported loss of propulsion on 18 October attributed to failed charge air cooler. Vessel is required to provide a manned engine watch on inbound transit. Repairs and root cause analysis must be completed to satisfaction of ABS and manufacturer. Provide class report attesting to the safety of the vessel. 46 CFR 97.27-5

Resolution: Main Engine returned to tier III compliance. Source of the water mist catcher fire was not determined. Further troubleshooting will continue via oil/exhaust residue laboratory analysis. Tech rep indicated the main engine can be ran at 100% load.

Every launching appliance shall be fitted with brakes capable of stopping the descent of the survival craft or rescue boat and holding it securely when loaded with its full complement of person and equipment; brake pads shall, where necessary, be protected from water and oil. A crack was discovered in clutch disc #1 on the starboard side lifeboat.
