0710 - Fire Prevention - Doors required to be self closing shall not be fitted with hold back hooks. Vessel had several hold back hooks mounted for doors that required to be self closing. The hold back hooks were not remote release devices of the fail-safe type. SOLAS 74 (2014) II-2/9.4.2.2 - 10 c.

Resolution: Corrected on the spot. Crew confirmed which doors required to be self closing according to the fire control plan, and those hold back hooks were removed.
