The fixed hydrocarbon gas detection system referred to in chapter II-2 of the convention shall be designed, constructed, and tested to the satisfaction of the Administration based on performance standards developed by the Organization. During exam, ship's crew was unable to test flow fault alarm on pump room gas detection system. One flow fault alarm did occur but it triggered three additional sampling points flow fault alarms. pump room entrance sampling point was anable to trigger flow fault alarm even after closing the valve in the gas detection cabinet for pump room entrance sample line. Cargo operations are not permitted until def #01 rectified.
