Main and auxiliary machinery essential for the propulsion and safety of the ship shall be provided with effective means for its operation and control. The attending marine inspector was unable to ascertain if all the required automation testing approved by ABS has been completed as the documentation is in complete. Some of the PSTP testing was conducted by the OEM however not tracked or logged withing the shipboard systems. Provide evidence that all approved and required ABS PSTP testing was complete in 2025 and on track to be completed in 2026. SOLAS II-1/31

A minimum of two two way portable radio's shall be suppled for each fire party for firefighters communication. Those two way radios shall be explosion proof or intrinsically safe. It was noted during the fire drill that the fire teams didn't utilize radios for communication. Further investigation revealed that there were no fire fighters available to the fire teams and the designated radios were being used elsewhere on the ship. SOLAS II-2/10.10.4

Attending marine inspector noted that the fire fighters outfits were missing the Axe with handle provided with high voltage insulation (small hatchet) required by FSS chapter 3. Two of these hatchets is required per damage control locker. These are typically worn on the fireman outfit with belt and holster.SOLAS II-2/10.10.1 FSS. 3.2.5
