The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to moving parts, hot surfaces, and other hazards. PSCO conducted in-service exam following a propulsion irregularity and COTP 0266-20(A1). COTP 0266-20(A1) was cleared upon repairs to all piston rings on #5 unit on main engine. All repairs satisfactory, no further issues. 74SOLAS(2014) II-I/26.1, 10c.

Resolution: PSC NOLA received proper documentation from Panama satisfying the requirement. A corrective action plan was conducted via SMS on loading and thermal variations with disimination to the company fleet.
