Except for Ro-Ro and vehicle spaces, cargo spaces of 2000 gross tonnage and upwards shall be protected by a fixed fire extinguishing system complying with the provisions of the FSS Code or a fire extinguishing system which gives equivalent protection. Cargo hold CO2 discharge valves are inoperable.

The construction of doors in "A" class boundaries shall provide resistance to fire as well as the passage of smoke and flame equivalent to that of the bulkheads.
