Normal equipment of every lifeboat shall consist of a food ration as described in paragraph 4.1.5.1.18 totalling not less than 10,000 kj for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accomadate; these rations shall be kept in air tight packaging. PSCO found 03 of 25 food rations compromised and need replaced. vessel does have enough rations for crew onboard. 74SOLAS(20)III/34 LSA 4/4.4.8.12

Resolution: Vsl provided documentary evidence from their Flag State that they replaced the 03 sets of LSA food rations.

All lifesaving appliances and arrangements shall comply with the applicable requiremetns of the Code. Unable to verify validity and testing requirements of starboard side lifeboat's 02 smoke signals. No SOLAS or valid Coast Guard approval are available. 74SOLAS(14) III/34

Resolution: USCG is satisfied with the pictures of the new smoke signals as well as the delivery receipt. Smoke signals are of an approved type in accordance with CGMIX.
