Each abandon ship drill shall include cecing life jackets are donned correctly. Port state duty officer observed 02 crewmembers failed to dawn lifejackets correctly.
During the abandon ship drill the Port State Duty Officer instructed 02 crew members to don immersion suits. Once the crewmembers were finished, the Port State Duty Officer asked the Chief Mate if there were any issues with the way the members donned the immersion suits as well as if this is how they are trained. The Chief Mate did not notice the crewmembers failed to don lifejackets over the immersion suits.

Resolution: Port State Duty Officer ensured that the Chief officer will conduct training with the crew IAW the vessles training manual. Which requires lifejackts to be worn with immersion suits.
