Doors in "A" Class bulkheads shall meet the following requirements: Doors shall have a latch with a minimum throw of 3/4 inch which can be operated from either side of the door. MI observed door in the "A" class boundary bulkhead between the machinery space and workshop to be missing the handle and latching mechanism causing the door to remain open and have an open penetration. Install proper latching mechanism and door handle to meet the "A" class boundary requirement of the bulkhead. Additionally, maintain accepted mitigation procedures for entry and working within the workshop until proper repair/installation of door latch and mechanism is installed to the satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector. 46CFR32.56-35(a) 46CFR72.05(b)(3)

During an internal structure exam required by 46CFR31.10, two failed welds were discovered; First one is IWO the side shell seam weld, in Cargo Hold #1 STBD side. 5 frames FWD of the access hatch and 7 sidelongs from the bottom. The second weld is in the same location but the actual sidelong itself had been split at the butt weld as well. 46CFR31.10-21(c)
