Maintenance, testing and inspections shall be carried out based on guidelines developed by the organization and in a manner having due regard to ensuring the reliability of fire-fighting systems and appliances. PSCO observed multiple siezed manual ventilation dampers in the engine room. 74 SOLAS (20) II-2/14.2.2.1
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 10 - Deficiency Rectified
Resolved 16 June 2021
Resolution: The crew loosed the seized hardware, allowing the dampers to be manually opened and closed.
