This may be accomplished by an installed detection system, or by using individual battery-operated detectors meeting UL 217. Smoke detectors not provided in berthing spaces. Install smoke detectors in all berthing spaces.

Install 160-B system at appropriate location. 46 CFR 142.315(b)
