Oil filtering equipment shall have alarm arrangements and automatically stop when the oil content of effluent exceeds 15 ppm. The design of the equipment shall have regard to the specification recommended by the Organization. Vessel's oil record book showed use exceeding maximum through-put in accordance with IOPP Supplement.

Every steam pipe and every fitting connected shall be installed to withstand maximum working stresses to which it may be subjected. Vessel's steam valve on engine room main deck was leaking steam.
