The company should establish procedures, plans and instructions, including checklists as appropriate for key shipboard operations concerning the safety of personnel ship and protection of the environment. The various tasks should be defined and assigned to qualified personnel. Vessel's crew uses their cargo gas as a testing medium to test fixed gas system LEL alarm. Vessel did not have any procedures to instruct crew members in how to conduct a test, only calibration is addressed. ISM Code A/7 - 50c
