The construction and arrangement of a vessel must allow the safe operation of the vessel in accordance with the terms of its Certificate of Inspection giving consideration to provisions for a seaworthy hull, protection against fire, means of escape in case of a sudden unexpected casualty, guards and rails in hazardous places, ventilation of enclosed spaces, and necessary facilities for passengers and crew. Vessel suffered hull damage during Hurricane Beryl affecting seaworthiness and safe operation. Affect repairs bringing the vessel back to safe operational and seaworthy condition to the satisfaction of a US Coast Guard Marine Inspector. 46 CFR 177.100

A vessel must be fitted with ground tackle and mooring lines necessary for the vessel to be safely anchored or moored. The ground tackle and mooring lines provided must be satisfactory for the size of the vessel, the waters on which the vessel operates, subject to the approval of the cognizant OCMI. Vessel has multiple broken cleats affecting mooring operations and the ability to safely transfer passengers. Affect repairs bringing the vessel back to safe operational and seaworthy condition to the satisfaction of a US Coast Guard Marine Inspector. 46 CFR 184.300

Each child size life jacket must be stowed in a location that is appropriately marked and separated from adult life jackets so the child size life jackets are not mistaken for adult life jackets. Child size life jackets were stowed in the same location as adult size life jackets with no proper separation to identify each. Please separate adult and child size life jackets as per regulation to the satisfaction of a CG marine inspector. 46 CFR 180.78(5)

The construction and arrangement of a vessel must allow the safe operation of the vessel in accordance with the terms of its Certificate of Inspection. Steering gear assembly support bracket located midcenter below the deck amidships is heavily corroded. Please conduct permanent repair/renewal of bracket to the satisfaction of a CG marine inspector.

An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. Each life jacket must be approved in accordance with either 160.002, 160.005, or 160.055 in subchapter Q. Marine Inspector discovered life jackets on board are not of the CG approved type. Replace un-approved life jackets with US Coast Guard approved life jackets. 46 CFR 180.71 701C

Each rescue boat and ring life buoy must be marked with Type II retroreflective material approved in accordance with § 164.018 in subchapter Q of this chapter. Marine Inspector discovered no type II retroreflective tape found on ring buoy. Install type II retroreflective tape on ring buoy. 46 CFR 185.604(i) 50C

To qualify for a medical certificate, a mariner must provide evidence of meeting the medical and physical standards. Provide a master with valid exam prior to carriage of passengers

A vessel must be provided with a main steering gear that is of adequate strength and capable of steering the vessel at all service speeds. Show proper operation of steering prior to carriage of passengers.

A vessel must carry 3 orange and 3 red flares or alternative, 6 red flares. Provide 2 flares prior to carriage of passengers.

Master shall conduct sufficient drills and give sufficient instruction to make sure all crew members are familiar with their duties. Conduct drills in the presents of Coast Guard prior to carriage of passengers.

A vessle of not more than 26 feet must carry one life ring at least 20" in diameter. Life ring is damaged. Replace within 30 days.

A vessel must have a life buoy that meets the approval standards listed in 46 CFR 160.050. The grab line on the life buoy was deteriorated and no longer serviceable.

Machinery and equipment installed on each vessel must be suitable for the vessel and its operation and for the purposes intended. The vessel's outboard engine is inoperable.

US Vessels less than 50 gross tons which are navigated not more than 1000 feet from nearest land are exempt from the requirements of the Communications Act. Prior to operating greater than 1000 feet from shore, Provide a FCC Station License, Safety Radio Telephony Certificate, and licensed Marine Radio Operator.

Placards containing instruction for the donning and use of the life jackets aboard the vessel must be posted in conspicuous places. Provide a life jacket donning placard within 30 days.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up to date charts, Coast Pilot [name withheld], Tide Tables, and Current tables for its area of operation. Provide the above within 30 days.
