Propulsion Machinery, including main engines, reduction gears, shafting, bearings, and electrical equipment must be maintained to ensure proper operation and be suitable for route and service. Vessel had steering pump failure. Investigate cause and repair IAW Company Action Plan. Vessel is enrolled in Streamlined Inspection Program (SIP). Coordinate repairs with USCG SIP Advisor or local OCMI.

Received a reported that during fleet operation the port forward button was pulled off leaving the fuel tank open The port generator trip off line and shut down. The winch overload is a known existing problem. Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions. Make permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the TPO.
