In addition to meeting Reg. 7, every ship on voyages in Sea Area A-1 shall also be provided with an INMARSAT ship earth station. The vessel allided with the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge damaging the INMARSAT-C antenna and the vessel is unable to make radio communications or distress alerts.
