The master must ensure that all hatches, doors, and other openings designed to be watertight or weather-tight function properly. Engine room watertight door on the port side sustained significant damage after an allision and is inoperable. Repair watertight door to the satisfaction of TPO prior to towing operations. In accordance with CVC Policy Letter 17-10, the above deficiencies may be cleared by the operating company's TPO. TPO must submit a report to the cognizant OCMI within 72 hours of clearing the deficiencies.
