Issued 27 July 2023 Resolved
When major alterations or major repairs of tank vessels become necessary the work shall be done under the direction of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection, and shall be in accordance with the regulations in effect for new construction insofar as possible. On 26JUL23, barge was involved in a marine casualty where the starboard bow void had a hole approximately 3 ft high by 5 ft wide. A transit plan and repair plan mut be submitted prior to the barge being able to transit to offload cargo.
