Personal equipment shall consist of the following: Protective clothing of material to protect the skin from the heat radiating from the fire and from burns and scalding by steam. The vessel;s fire suits are deteriorating and need to be replaced. The vessel had two spare suits on board. The suits on board are damaged on the leg cuffs, 5 of 6 helmets were found with torn heat shield, one set of boots were torn along the foot.
