The owner or managing operator shall notify the cognizant OCMI as far in advance as possible whenever a vessel is to undergo repairs or alterations affecting the safety of the vessel, together with the nature of any repairs or alterations contemplated. The protective cover of the RHIB failed at the seam and has been modified with grommets and line securing the cover from opening further. The protective cover must be replaced in kind and verified by marine inspector.

Fuel shutoff valve stations must be marked in clearly legible letters at least 25 millimeters (1 inch) high indicating purpose of the valve. Since the shutoff valve is located inside a passenger seat, it must be labeled on the exterior to direct the crew where the shut off is.
