A generator or motor designed for 40 °C (104 °F) may be used in 50 °C (122 °F) ambient locations provided the generator or motor is derated to 80 percent of the full load rating, and the rating or setting of the overcurrent devices is reduced accordingly. Provide proof from manufacturer that generator is rated for 50 degrees given the insulation rating on the generator was class H, de-rate the generator to 80 % of the full rated load and the setting of the overcurrent device is adjusted accordingly or replace generator with one rated for 50 degree ambient temperatures.
