During a test of the sliding fire door in the entrance to the sauna, the bar designed to re-open upon contact would not reset when tested. When tested, the sliding fire door would re-open 1 m but it would not close due to the contact bar remaining in the closed position. 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/14.2.1.1.1

The construction of doors and door frames in "A" class divisions, with the means of securing them when closed, shall provide resistance to fire as well as to the passage of smoke and flame equivalent to that of the bulkheads in which the doors are situated. Fire doors A.53.14, A.02.02, A.44.09, and A.44.13 had their locking mechanisms removed leaving holes in the doors. Such means shall consist of a door-latching mechanism incorporating a device that releases the latch upon the application of a force in the direction of escape flow.
