This inspection was completed IAW the D17 policy for inspection of inflatable vessels. The vessels that built with a center console (MArk VI) have installed radio communications. None of the masters had a radio operator permit and as the masters are not assigned to one particular vessel all of them shall have a radio operator permit.

This inspection was completed IAW the D17 policy for inspection of infltable vessels. During the inspection the vessels life ring was marked with the name of the vessel but it was already deteriorating and shall be remarked to the satisfaction of the attending MI.

This inspection was completed IAW District 17 policy for inspection of infltatble vessels, and if the vessel utilizes hand held radios as the form of communication, then a spare battery is required to be carried on board. The vessel did not have spare batteries. MI discussed with operator and agreed that as the master's charge the batteries every day then a spare is not required as long as the operator has a procedure in their SMS for charging portable radios.

This inspection was completed IAW District 17 inspection of inflatable vessels. The policy requires additional items to be carried on board. The vessel stored majority of required equipment in the orange lifesaving container. During an emergency, the pertinent lifesaving equipment would be difficult to obtain. Vessel shall remove additional items and place in a seperate container.
