Escape doors from public spaces that are normally latched shall be fitted with means of quick release that releases the latch upon the application of a force in the direction of escape flow and... shall not be equipped with any locking device or other arrangement that prevents the release of the latch when pressure is applied to the releasing device. Designated escape routes throughout kid and toddler lounge and aft lounge on Deck 7 had door latch mechanisms that would not release upon application of force in the direction of escape flow. 74 SOLAS (20) II-2/13.3.2.6.2
