01 - Certificates & Documentation › 013 - Documents › Stability Information Booklet
Issued 17 July 2024
Resolved
Except as otherwise provided in this subpart, a mechanically propelled vessel of the United States, which is certificated for or carries more than 12 passengers on international voyages must be in compliance with the applicable requirements of the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as Amended (SOLAS), to which the United States Government is currently a party. The United States, in IMO SLS.14/Circ. 87 of 1987, communicated with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that a vessel meeting 46 CFR Subchapter T is equivalent to the provision of the below chapters of SOLAS allowing small passengers vessels to operate on an international voyage which doesn’t proceed more than 20 nautical miles from the nearest land. To use this equivalency, each vessel must also meet all of the following: the vessel qualifies for a certificate for an Oceans route on exposed waters (including exposed waters for stability evaluation.)
Vessel must obtain a stability letter with an exposed route prior to embarking on an international voyage with passengers for hire.

Each line is an incident investigation the Coast Guard recorded with this hull among the vessels involved, with the date and the classification the Coast Guard gave it, and the bridge, lock or dam the investigation names where it names one. Involvement is not fault. The investigation narrative is not published. Source: IIR, through 2026.
Ownership record
The Coast Guard's documentation record for this hull -- the Abstract of Title,
with its owners and liens as filed -- is not in PSIX. Ask, and Maury buys it from the National
Vessel Documentation Center, files it here with its date, and every reader of this page gets it.
