The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. The vessels crew has effected modifications to the steering system allowing individual control of the port and stbd rudder, and has removed the cross bar connecting the two rudders together. These modifications were completed mid-May 2023 and have not been approved by the vessel’s classification society. 74 SOLAS (20) I/11 60AC

The installation is not gas tight and the engine room in the immediate vicinity of the MSD smells strongly of sewage.
