The angular position of the rudder shall: If the main steering gear is power operated, be indicated on the navigation bridge, and be recognizable in the steering gear compartment. STBD rudder angle indicator on the bridge is not operational. Oil Record Book Part I shall be completed on each occasion, whenever any of the following machinery space operations takes place in a ship: Collection and disposal of oil residue (sludge). Vessel has not conducted or recorded weekly soundings of the sludge tank in the oil record book. The number of openings in watertight subdivisions is to be kept to a minimum compatible with the design and proper working of the ship. Where penetrations of watertight bulkheads and internal decks are necessary for access, piping, ventilation, electrical cables, etc., arrangements are to be made to maintain the watertight integrity. No electrical equipment shall be installed in any space where flammable mixtures are liable to collect including those on board tankers or in compartments assigned principally to accumulator batteries, in paint lockers, acetylene stores or similar spaces, unless the Administration is satisfied that the equipment is of a type which will not ignite the mixture concerned and appropriately certified for safe usage in the dusts, vapours or gases likely to be encountered.
