A fireman's outfit shall consist of a breathing apparatus of an approved type. One breathing apparatus has a leak to the pressure gauge due to a faulty regulating valve. Breathing apparatus was donned by crewmember and is able to provide air for 30 minutes without the pressure gauge. Vessel is unable to obtain new backplate for repairs in Jacksonville. New parts will be delivered at next port of call. 74SOLAS(2001) Reg 17.1.2

PSCO OBSERVED EXCESSIVE OIL LEAKS FROM THE MAIN DIESEL ENGINE AROUND THE CRANKCASE COVERS, #2 MAIN LUBE OIL PUMP AND THE LUBRICATOR WHERE THE OIL WAS BEING COLLECTED IN A 5 GALLON BUCKET.
