The launching mechanism shall be so arranged that it may be activated by one person from a position on the ship's deck and from a position within the survival craft or rescue boat. PSCO observed the manufactuer's manual stating the rescue boat will be slewed to lowering position by using the manual control valve in boat or on deck. The rescue boat could not be slewed to the lowering position from within the rescue boat.

Resolved 1 April 2022
Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted class report from DNV stating the deficiency was rectified. Control unit checked and two hydraulic hoses switched, allowing davit to slew outboard within rescue boat. Vessel provided video showing proper operation of davit.
