THE SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SHOULD ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH MANDATORY RULES AND REGULATIONS. THE FISHING GEAR AND CAN OPENER REQUIRED BY THE LSA CODE TO BE IN THE LIFEBOAT WERE LOCATED IN THE RESCUE BOAT. THE CHECKLIST USED BY THE VESSEL HAD THE LOCATIONS LISTED INCORRECTLY AND NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LSA CODE.
