The machinery shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. It was reported that the vessel had experienced a reduction of RPM resulting to a slowdown, due to water mixed with the cylinder oil. Demonstrate operational readiness of the propulsion system.

Resolved 18 November 2020
Resolution: Caused was due to contaminated cylinder oil (mixed with water), that activated the cylinder oil alarm sensor resulting to a M/E slowdown. Crew cleaned the cylinder oil tank. Tested ahead & astern propulsion and was found in good working order.
