A space containing machinery powered by, or fuel tanks for, gasoline must have a ventilation system that complies with this section. The vessel was found to have an inadequate ventilation system for a vessel containing gasoline independent fuel tanks in an enclosed space. The exhaust blower automatically shuts off after two minutes. The exhaust blower must be interlocked to the engine ignition and remain on while the engine is energized.

On a vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in each of the following unmanned spaces with a through-hull fitting below the deepest load waterline. The vessel's aft bilge high level alarms is inoperable. Replace or repair the inoperable bilge high level alarms.
