The purpose of this regulations is to provide means of escape so that the persons on board can safely and swiftly escape to the lifeboat and life raft embarkation deck. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met. Safe escape routes shall be provided. PSCO observed broadcast room on deck 5 does not have means of immediate and clear motivations of fire in surrounding space. Fire detection does not contain audible alarm 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/13.1.1

Resolution: The broadcast room on deck 5 frames 171-181 behind fire door 5.2.21 was assessed and a new smoke detector with an audible buzzer alarm was installed replacing the original without an audible feature. The new detector was tested and found to be working

Oil fuel pipes, which if damaged, would allow oil to escape from a storage, settling, or daily service tank having a capacity of 500 l and above situated above the double bottom, shall be fitted with a cock or valve directly on the tank capable of being closed from a safe position outside the space concerned in the event of a fire occurring in the space in which such tanks are situated. PSCOs observed that after activation of quick closing valve 701.5511 on group 3c the indicator showed that it was open, however the valve did in fact close. 74 SOLAS (20) II-2/4.2.2.3.4
