The marine employer must have a sufficient number of alcohol testing devices readily accessible on board the vessel to determine the presence of alcohol in the system of each individual who was directly involved in an SMI. Provide approved alcohol testing devices on board.

Each life jacket must be marked in clearly legible block capital letters with the vessel's name. Place the vessel name on each life jacket.

A vessel must be provided with an auxiliary means of steering. A suitable hand tiller may be acceptable as the auxiliary means of steering where satisfactory to the cognizant OCMI. Provide the tools required to install the supplied tiller and maintain them in the steering compartment for emergency use.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date charts of large enough scale to make safe navigation possible. Provide a chart, CG Light List, and U.S. Coast Pilot of the operating area.

A vessel must comply with the applicable requirements for any Electronic Position Indicating Radiobeacon (EPIRB) installations, including installation certificates to be issued by the Federal Communications Commission, as set forth in 47 CFR part 80. Provide a NOAA registration certificate and label the EPIRB with the vessel name.

A vessel must comply with the applicable requirements for any radio installations, including the requirements for installation certificates to be issued by the Federal Communications Commission, as set forth in 47 CFR part 80. Provide an FCC Safety Radiotelephony certificate and a copy of the radio operator's license.

Portable fire extinguishers must be located so that they are clearly visible and readily accessible from the space being protected. The installation and location must be to the satisfaction of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection. Provide a bracket to secure the 40-B:C portable fire extinguisher for the machinery space.

A vessel must comply with the applicable design, equipment, personnel, procedures, and record requirements of 33 CFR parts 151, 155, and 156. The master or person in charge of a ship to which this section applies shall ensure that the ship is not operated unless a garbage management plan is on the ship and that each person handling garbage follows the plan. Each garbage management plan must be in writing and provide for the discharge of garbage by means that meet Annex V of MARPOL, the Act, and §§ 151.51 through 151.77; describe procedures for minimizing, collecting, processing, storing, and discharging garbage;and designate the person who is in charge of carrying out the plan. Provide a garbage management plan. 33 CFR 151.57

Each vessel must be marked as required by part 67, subpart I, of this chapter. The name of the vessel must be marked on some clearly visible exterior part of the port and starboard bow and the stern of the vessel. The hailing port of the vessel must be marked on some clearly visible exterior part of the stern of the vessel. Provide the name and hailing port as described. 46 CFR 67.123(a)

Any vessel of at least five net tons which engages in coastwise trade must have a Certificate of Documentation bearing a valid endorsement appropriate for the activity in which engaged. Provide a valid COD with current owner/operator.

Each vessel certificated to operate on a limited coastwise route in cold water must be provided with life floats of an aggregate capacity that will accommodate at least 100% of the total number of persons permitted to be on board. The 30 person inflatable liferaft has been removed for servicing. Until the ILR is onboard, the route has been reduced to Lakes, Bays, & Sounds within 1 mile of shore.

All Closure devices must be readily available and mounted in vicinity of the vent. Port and Starboard Air dampener closures not fully closing. 1 inch air gap. 46 CFR 182.465(h)

Inspection for each portable fire extinguishers to check general condition. All portable extinguishers missed annual service per NFPA 10. 46 CFR 176.810(b)(1)

Firefighting Drills and training shall be logged. Missing required fire drill entries in logbook/ drill record. 46CFR 185.524(d)

All vessel must carry a first aid kit. Vessel’s first aid kit had expired items. 46 CFR 184.710

An employer shall provide employee Assistance program for all crew members. EAP contract letter was found expired. Provide new letter. 46CFR 16.401

To maintian a valid Certifiate of Inspection you must complete your annual inspection within the periods specified in 176.500(b)(1). The vessels' COI has lapsed in validity.
