The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. PSCO observed full drip trays under all four steering rams, on both port and starboard steering gears. In addition to the buckets and hoses added to the drip trays for collection purposes. Buckets were filled half full with oil. Multiple oil soaked rags were also placed under and around the buckets as well as under the rest of the steering gear(s). SOLAS(20) Chapter 1 Reg 11(a) 60ac

An Audbile and visible alarm system to give a warning on both sides of the airlock shall be provided. The visible alarm shall indicate if one door is open.
