At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification, the owner or managing operator must be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspection of its fire protection equipment, including the following... (7) Inspection and testing of all smoke and fire detection systems, including sensors, and alarms... (2) For fixed-gas fire extinguishing systems, the inspections and tests required by Table 46 CFR 176.810(b) of this section, in addition to the tests, required by 46 CFR 147.60 and 147.65. The owner or managing operator must provide satisfactory evidence of the required servicing to the marine inspector. If any of the equipment or records have not been properly maintained, a qualified servicing facility may be required to perform the required inspections, maintenance procedures, and hydrostatic pressure tests... Fire detection and CO2 fire suppression system was for not serviced by a qualified facility. Have annual servicing conducted satisfactory prior to carriage of passengers. Provide Marine Inspector with servicing report upon completion.

A vessel must carry either a first aid kit approved under approval series 160.041 or a kit with equivalent contents and instructions... Pilot house EMT bag was found with expired eye wash, and expired NARCAN, Pilot house first aid kit was found with expired eye wash. Replace contents with new.

Portable fire extinguishers must be located so that they are clearly visible and readily accessible from the space bring protected. The installation and location must be to the satisfaction of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection. 02 fire extinguishers were discovered not properly mounted, and free about the deck. (Upper Deck Bar, and the work bench outside the engine room). Properly mount portable fire extinguishers.

The following spaces must be equipped w/ a fire detection & alarm system of an approved type installed IAW 46 CFR 76... Fire detection panel found inoperable.

On a vessel of more than 65 feet in length, the public address system must be a fixed installation & be audible during normal operations throughout the accommodation spaces... PA System found inoperable.

Each vessel mujst have adequate emergency lighting fitted along the line of escape to the main deck from all passenger and crew accoommodation spaces located below the main deck. Emergency lighting didnot function during operational check. Vessel is limited to day time operations until lights are functioning.

A visual and audible alarm must be proved at the operation station... water tank void alarm did not have visual light, lazzarette alarm did not sound or provide visual indication.

Life jackets must be stowed in conveinient places distributed throughout accommodation spaces.

Each ring life buoy on a vessel must be stowed in a way that it can rapidly cast loose..Life buoys could not be cast free.

Placards containing instructions for the donning and use of PFD's must be posted in conspicuious places that are regularly accessible and visble to crew and passengers.

Each vessel must be equipped with at least two operable portable battery lights. One of these lights must be located at the operating station and at the access to the propulsion machinery space.

Complete but simple instructions for the operation of a fixed gas fire extinguishing system must be located at or near each pull box and stope valve control and where agent is stored. Post instructions by pull handle.

Remote fuel shutoff stations must be marked in clearly legible letters at least 1 inch high indicating purpose of the valve and direction of operation.

And adult life jacket must be proved for each person carried onboard . Add an additional 29 adult PFDs. Vessel is limited to 150 persons until additional PFD's are placed into service.

the cognizant OCMI may require that a vessel and its equipment under any additional test or inspection deemed reasonable and necessary to determine that the vessl and its equipment are suitable for the service in which they are employed. Install spot light bulb. Repair depth sounder. Provide servicing report of proper operation of fire detection panel.

Abandon ship and man overboard drills and training. Firefighting drills nad training. Provide photos of loggs of all drills and training. (next two months to provide adequete logs)

On a vessel on which the number of passengers permitted on opper decks is limited by stability criteria as indicated by the vessels stability letter, the maximum number of passengers allowed on a upper deck must be indicated by a durable marking of at least 1 inch numbers and letters at the entranceway to that deck. Maximum capacity of upper deck is 126 passengers.

A marine employer whose vessel is involved in a casualty or incident that is, or likely to become, a serious marine incident as defined in 4.03-2.

A hatch cover must be attached to the hatch frame or coaming by hinges, captive chains, or other devices of substantial strength to prevent its loss.

A hinged watertight door must be fitted with a quick action closing devise... and indicator lights at the operating station, showing whether the door is open or closed.
