13101 - Propulsion main engine - The machinery shall be of a design and construction adequate for which they are intended. While maneuvering in Lower Mississippi River, vessel's MDE experienced reduction in RPM caused by alarm in the Bearing Wear Monitoring System on #6 cylinder. Vessel was restricted by COTP Order. It was determined operational system was set to at sea mode when it should have been in maneuvering mode. Class Surveyor attended and satisfactorily tested MDS ahead and astern.
