Each emergency generating set arranged to be automatically started shall be equipped with starting devices approved by the admnistration with a stored energy capability of at least three conesecutive starts.
PSCO requested crew test emergency generator. Crew attempted to test primary means (Battery Start) at least five consecutive times in which fail start alarm was triggered each time. Crew could not start emergency generator using primary means while PSCO was onboard.

Resolution: New E-generator starter was supplied. Starter was installed and engine-starting was tested three consecutive times per SOLAS requirements. Generator was found in satisfactory condition by attending surveyor.
