For tankers of 8,000 tonnes deadweight and upwards constructed on or after 1 July 2016 the protection of the cargo tanks shall be achieved by a fixed gas system in accordance with requirements of the Fire Safety Systems Code.
Two ozygen sensors shall be positioined at appropriate locations in the space or spaces containing the inert gas system. Vessel reported that one of two required oxygen sensors as inoperative in IGG room, PSCO verified that oxygen sensor was inoperative.
