The purpose of this regulation is to prevent the ignition of combustible materials or flammable liquids. Means shall be provided to control leaks of flammable liquids. PSCO observed a leak on the piping associated with the oil mist tank near the top of the boiler, at the flange. 74 SOLAS (20) II-2/4.1.1
Action required: 50 - Rectify deficiencies w/in 30 days

Resolution: The leaking flange on the piping was missing two bolts. Class had the vessel repalce the gasket and retighten all bolts on the flange.
