11119 - Immersion suits - An immersion suit which has buoyancy and is designed to be worn without a lifejacket shall be fitted with a light complying with the requirements of paragraph 2.2.3 and the whistle prescribed by paragraph 2.2.1.14. PSCO observed the immersion suits onboard were marked indicating that they are to be worn without a lifejacket. However, immersion suits onboard were not fitted with lights or whistles. PSCO also observed conflicting instructions between the print on the immersion suits and the manual they came with as to whether or not they were to be worn with a lifejacket. Crew members were not certain on the proper donning of the immersion suit.
