Machinery and equipment installed on each vessel must be suitable for the vessel and its operation and for the purpose intended. Vessel reported it was experiencing a jet propulsion steering issue on its starboard bucket while preparing to get underway. Provide root cause analysis of steering system issue, provide technician report for MI review, and conduct satisfactory internal sea trial to MI satisfaction. 46 CFR 119.100
