The owner or managing operator must provide satisfactory evidence of the required servicing to the marine inspector. Have portable extinguishers and fireboy properly inspected prior to vessel movement.

The shutoff valve at the tank must be manually operable from outside the compartment in which the valve is located, preferably from an accessible position on the weather deck. Fuel shutoff is not properly closing supply, repair prior to vessel movement.
