Tests must be conducted at periodic intervals specified by the Coast Guard to confirm that vital systems and safety features continue to operate in a safe, reliable manner. MI observed that the PSTP's have not been conducted and recorded. Tests will need to be conducted to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

Each oil tanker of 150 gross tons and above, ship of 400 gross tons and above other than an oil tanker, and manned fixed or floating drilling rig or other platform shall maintain an Oil Record Book Part I (Machinery Space Operations). MI observed that the oil record book was not being filled out in accordance with the instructions. Oil record book will be filled out in accordance with the CFR and instructions and will be inspected next year.

The inspection shall be such as to insure that the... piping... is in satisfactory condition and fit for the service for which it is intended. Multiple through hull fittings throughout the vessel are no longer in use and remain unsecured, cap off the unused piping.

At each inspection... see that there is no accumulation of oil which might create a fire hazard. Vessel was found storing large quantities of oil in multiple spaces. Remove the oil from all non-designated spaces and ensure proper storage.

Check the settings of the relief valves on all pressure vessels twice every 5 years, No more that 3 years may elapse between any check. Complete a test of the pressure relief valves.

General emergency alarm signal must be audible... with all normally closed doors. Repair or replace the hatch sensors on the MSD space and port stern access hatch.

MI received report for a marine cas. on 26NOV22. Port nozzel and prop missing. Contact MI's for final inpsection and sea trails as per discussion. All repairs are to be made to satisfaction of attending MI and ABS.

STBD MID generator room faulty smoke alarm signal. crew is to conduct 15min rounds of space and log findings until permanent repairs are verified by attending marine inspector.

Each vessel must have an amplifier-type announcing system that will supplement the general emergency alarm. Vessels PA system was not functioning at time of inspection. Vessels crew has hand held radios to supplement as a temporary means of comms.

The rescue boat must meet the embarkation and launching arrangement requirements of §§ 199.110 (e) and (g), 199.150, 199.155, and if the launching arrangement uses falls and a winch, § 199.153. Documentation and certifications were not available. Provide inspectors with certification of approval for the launching arrangement.

All automatically or remotely controlled or monitored vital systems addressed by part 62 of this subchapter must be subjected to tests and inspections to evaluate the operation and reliability of controls, alarms, safety features, and interlocks. Test procedures must be submitted to the Coast Guard for approval. (b) Persons designated by the owner of the vessel shall conduct all tests and the Design Verification and Periodic Safety tests shall be witnessed by the Coast Guard. (c) Design Verification and Periodic Safety test procedure documents approved by the Coast Guard must be retained aboard the vessel. Submitted test procedures are pending approvals by the Coast guard. Conduct test IAW written procedures upon approval by the Coast Guard.
